Simply put, 2017 was one of the greatest years for video games and each platform had plenty of games to play.  We somehow managed to narrow our favorite picks to our top three, so give it a listen and see what we thought of some of the most popular games and which made our lists.  Horizon, Zelda, Cuphead, Destiny 2, Injustice, Persona, Mario, Nier, which ones made the cut and which one came out on top?

It’s a light news week for the Gamecast as we approach the end of the calendar year and the holiday season.  Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds was released on Xbox One and its performance is definitely a bit rough, even for Xbox One X owners.  Despite this, however, it still managed to sell a million copies on the platform, so that’s a big win for Microsoft in a rough year.  Atlus announced Catherine: Full Body, an enhanced version of the 360/PS3 game, coming to PS4 and PS Vita next year.  Lastly, we discuss the results of November’s NPD Sales Report.

We’re getting closer to the end of the year and this week we have a bunch of news to talk about!  The Game Awards hosted by Geoff Keighley happened and we got a lot of announcements in addition to the awards for the best games of 2017, including some new footage of Death’s Stranding, a Bayonetta 3 teaser, and Soul Calibur VI!  Congratulations are in order to Sony and Naughty Dog for the Uncharted series as they announced 41 million games were sold in the series.  We get a couple tidbits on God of War and Last of Us Part II and hope for PSN name changes in the near future.  Capcom is on an upward swing, following up their Mega Man news with the announce of a Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection for all systems that spans Street Fighter 2, Street Fighter Alpha, and Street Fighter 3 in all their incarnations.  Lastly, Nintendo announced that 10 million Nintendo Switch units were sold since launch worldwide and on pace to match the PS4’s pace!
