This week we're hearing more about imminent layoffs from Microsoft across multiple studios, going as far to even impact partner studios like IO Interactive, where they pulled funding from Project Fantasy and forced IOI to lay employees off. Rumors are saying Arkane Studio is being sold or closed along with their Blade project. Meanwhile, Circana numbers for May 2026 are out and there's some slight growth year over year with the success of Switch 2 outpacing the decline of PS5 and Xbox.
